Position: Thunder Bay & Area Food Strategy Coordinator
Reporting to: Thunder Bay & Area Food Strategy Executive Committee
The Coordinator will lead the ongoing efforts of the Thunder Bay and Area Food Strategy (TBAFS) by engaging partners and facilitating research, policy and action in a range of topics that comprise the TBAFS: food access; urban agriculture; school food environments; public food procurement; forest and freshwater foods; food infrastructure; and food production. The goal of the TBAFS is to create a healthy, equitable, and sustainable food system that contributes to health and well-being of individuals, communities, the environment, and local economies while supporting regional food self-reliance. Tasks will include administration for the Executive Committee, Council and working groups; supporting existing projects and exploring new project opportunities; updating the Food Strategy Implementation Plan and the Community Food Security Report Card; and preparing grant proposals. Terms of Work
This is a 12- month contract for a part-time position (22.5 hours/week) beginning March 2018. There is potential for an increase to full-time or extension of the contract if additional project funding is secured. The Food Strategy Coordinator is hosted by EcoSuperior and work is based at their offices located at 562 Red River Road, Thunder Bay.
